Geotechnical Investigations and analysis (including standard penetration test, study of availability construction materials, evaluation and analysis of data, soil bearing pressure etc.
Evaluation of the probable settlement of abutment foundation.
Selection of the type and the depth of foundation suitable for the construction of new piers to support the bridge.
Topographic Survey and Mapping of the river.
The existing abutments must be modified to accommodate the new superstructure. This would include resurfacing of the area where the bearing pads will be located, as well as any removal of concrete necessary to allow installation of the launching equipment.
